This necklace was inspired by an extant ancient Roman necklace (Met 22.139.66), and recreated using carnelian, aventurine, white cultured freshwater pearl beads, and sterling silver wire. Every loop was wrapped by hand.
The clasp is a handmade hook-and-eye closure, based on ancient Roman necklace clasps. It is hallmarked (925) on the eye portion of the clasp.
