Dark Green Aventurine and Freshwater Pearl Roman Style Beaded Chain
This style is based off of countless extant ancient Roman necklaces, dating to the first few centuries CE. It was made using bronze wire, semi-matte dark green aventurine beads, and white cultured freshwater pearls. The hand-cut aventurine beads and somewhat irregular, ranging in size from about 9mmx5mm-12mmx6mm, and the pearls are about 5mm and semi-round. The fastener is a handcrafted bronze hook and eye, after the originals on which it is based.
Multiple lengths are available- if you do not see one to your liking, please contact me.
Bronze is a reactionary metal, like sterling silver, and will develop a patina or tarnish with age, wear, and exposure to the elements. Unlike silver, bronze goes through a surprising variety of hues along its way, from bright rose gold to a warm gold, to well, bronze. I do not coat my pieces, so regular polishing may be required, according to your desire of its appearance.
