Green stone and pearl necklaces were prevalent in Roman art, and we have many extant examples in addition to that. What the green stone was varied, but the style remained, and necklaces such as this can be found into early Byzantine times.

These necklaces are made using pale green beryl beads, with white cultured freshwater pearls, on bronze or sterling silver. The clasp is a handcrafted hook and eye.

The wire is untreated and will develop a patina with age and wear, and may react with some people and environments.
