Ancient Roman Style Dark Aventurine and Pearl Sterling Silver Chain
This necklace was based on a very popular style of necklace in ancient Rome, c. 1st century BCE- at least the 3rd century CE, judging by many extant necklaces and depictions in art. It was made using ~5mm x 11mm dark green aventurine beads in an appropriate-to-period facet, alternating with white 5-5.5mm freshwater pearls, on sterling silver wire.
This necklace measures just shy of 17 inches long, and closes with a handcrafted hook and eye clasp (the .925 hallmark is in an unobtrusive place on the eye).
