Amethyst and Pearl Ancient Roman Style Necklace
Made using a pale amethyst in the classic late Roman era rectangular facet, with white cultured freshwater pearls, on bronze wire links. The clasp is a hook and eye, also made from bronze. The combination of amethyst and pearls in necklaces was especially popular into the early Byzantine period.
Bronze is a reactive metal and will develop a patina with age and wear. It may react with some people and environments, accelerating this process. That all said, it is a solid metal and will brighten back up with polishing.
